Interview with La Verne Fields, a community leader, concerning her experiences as a resident of Hamilton Park, Texas from 1959 to 1990. Fields discusses her youth in segregated East Texas, the lack of housing for African Americans, her decision to buy a home in Hamilton Park, home improvements, flooding problems, employment, entertainment and social activities, church activities, the desegregation of Hamilton Park School, Pacesetter, zoning problems, Civic League, traffic problems, park development, and the "Buy Out."
